Our Barred Rock hatching eggs are collected fresh from our healthy heritage breeding flock at Canadian Eh! Farm. Barred Rocks are one of Canada's favorite heritage breeds, prized for their calm personalities, excellent egg production, and delicious, flavorful meat.
Breed Highlights 🥚 200–280 large brown eggs per year
🐔 Heritage dual-purpose breed (excellent for eggs or meat)
⚖️ Mature Weight:
• Hens 7–7.5 lbs. • Roosters 9–10 lbs.
⏳ Processing age: Approximately 16–20 weeks for heritage meat birds

Hatching Tips
• Store eggs pointed-end down at 55–65°F (13–18°C) if not setting immediately.
• For best hatch rates, set eggs within 7 days of receiving them.
• Allow shipped eggs to rest 12–24 hours before incubating.
• Egg Incubation Time Approximately 21 Days
• Incubate at 99.5°F (37.5°C) with proper humidity, Remove or Turn OFF Egg Turner & Increase Humidity to 70% for the final 3 days ("lockdown").
While we carefully select every egg, hatch rates can never be guaranteed due to incubation practices, shipping, handling, or other factors beyond our control.
